Fred wasn’t just a neighbour down the lane he was one of life’s true individuals.
A man built on old values, the kind of values you don’t see often anymore.
With Fred you always knew exactly where you stood.
No nonsense, no pretence just honesty, decency, and a straightforwardness that made him who he was.
I had the privilege of sharing many conversations with him, especially on those drives to his beloved St Anne’s.
He absolutely lit up when we got there.
The moment he walked through the doors of the hotel, he was greeted with love warmth, and genuine friendship.
It was his place, and people there adored him.
On a personal level I’ll never forget the hours we spent laughing and talking.
He was a decent honest man the kind of honest the world is sorely missing today.
To a great friend RIP Fred.
I still find myself glancing over at the conservatory, expecting to see you sat there like always even though you moved.
We always call its Fred's house
You’ll be missed, mate. Always.
